15ct Rose Gold Curb Link Fob Chain
Fob chains are also known as Albert chains, named after Prince Albert, Queen Victoria’s husband. They were worn with a pocket watch clipped on at the end on a ‘dog clip’ or ‘swivel’ and sometimes also with other adornments, ‘fobs’, at the other end of the chain, which came in all different forms – check out some on this website! Later in the twentieth century, people took to wearing fob chains as necklaces although they had to be long enough to do so. This is a quality curb link fob chain evidenced by the fact that every link is stamped .625 (for 15ct gold). It would be a perfect accompaniment for a rose gold pocket watch or as a necklace. It has a t-bar and bolt ring (to interchange different fobs) with extra chain that slides over the chain on a jump ring, stamped .625 (for 15ct gold). This fob chain measures approximately 38cms in length with an extra 2.5cm from which the t-bar hangs. There are two dog clips, one at each end and both stamped .375 (for 9ct gold). These dog clips, being 9ct gold, may have been replaced at some stage or the stronger 9ct gold has been used where the chain is taken on and off. We have a number of silver and gold fob chains in stock of varying types of links and lengths, as well as lots of interesting fobs.
