Victorian 18ct Pearl Cross Enamel Mourning Ring
Although mourning jewellery is traditionally worn in memory of a deceased loved one, it is also very popular with antique jewellery collectors looking for rare and special pieces. This rare and elegant ring has several characteristics associated with mourning jewellery including black enamel, a cross, and pearls symbolising tears. The piece features a central cross with 6 claw set pearls, set at an angle, with a line of black enamel between engraved rails on either side, in 18ct yellow gold. The ring is stamped with the maker's mark SB&S and 18c. The ring is in great condition for its age, with a tiny piece of enamel missing in the very far corner on one side, and this in no way detracts from the beauty of the piece. Currently size N 1/2 and can be safely sized by our expert jewellers. This ring is unique and once sold cannot be replaced.
